For People Who Want To Be Fit

At the Institute of Human Performance (IHP), we deal with everyday, normal people—people just like you and the staff at IHP. Although the IHP environment is very professional, the IHP clients give it a very warm and relaxed spirit, making all newcomers feel right at home within minutes of opening the doors. The typical fitness clients at IHP are usually interested in dropping a few pounds and keeping their bodies young and in good working condition for playing with their children and excelling in their favorite past times. The IHP fitness clients are a demographically diverse group. On our last analysis, we were surprised as to how balanced our clientele demographics are: Females and males are just about equal in numbers, and our youth and athletes are just about equal to our fitness clientele in number. So, nobody at IHP ever feels alone, and chances are you will meet someone just like you working out beside you at IHP.

Many of the IHP clients are females with strong bodies and characters—we love our ladies at IHP. The ladies at IHP are serious about their training and outwork many of our athletes; as a group, they are hard to beat on the training floor. The strong women of IHP are CEOs, self-employed, executives, heads of households, active moms, and students. They run the entire spectrum of roles and personalities. Many of our ladies initially came to drop a few pounds, some came to improve a recreational sport, and others came to feel and look their personal best. Regardless of why they came, they stayed with us and help make IHP an exciting and diverse training facility. The female clients at IHP range in age from the midteens to the early eighties, and the average IHP woman is in her midthirties. So if you are a woman looking to workout out in a clean, professional, nonintimidating, and inspirational facility, the Institute of Human Performance (IHP) is the place for you.

Our male clientele is equally diverse.  However, just like the ladies, the men at IHP work their butts off.  As a matter of fact – some of our training and performance records don’t belong to our athletes; they belong to some of our male fitness clients!  The men that train at IHP are similar to the ladies in that they are CEOs, small business owners, executives, single parents, and students.  The age profile is also identical to that of our female clientele. Men like IHP because it has an edge underneath its professional demeanor.  Although most of the IHP men come to maintain good fitness levels and improve their gold, some like to train more like the did in their younger days;  more athletic.   One of the favorite features the male IHP clientele enjoys is the interaction with some of the professional athletes that call IHP their training headquarters.  Most of the guys love to talk and sharing the training floor with, many of our professional football players, baseball players, and professional fighters – that camaraderie is great to see.   However, our favorite quality of the male clientele at IHP is that our men are professional, courteous, and polite men; they are a true testament to the fact that “chivalry is still alive at IHP.”

Those that want to play hard

The Institute of Human Performance is known world-wide for the hard driving workout its Founder and CEO, JC Santana, has developed.   Santana has been a combat athlete and student for the greater part of his life, and the training style he grew up developing is the finger print of the IHP training system.  Santana’s training philosophy and style are two of the main reasons why athletes from all sports gravitate to IHP.  Regardless of the sport, the IHP athlete takes great pride in its strength and conditioning; we vow to never lose to fatigue!

IHP has trained some of the world’s best athletes, from world champion fighters to MVP players of MLB.  We have also had great success with professional Golf and Tennis players.  However, IHP’s greatest accomplishments are not all in the professional ranks; some of our best work is done at the college, club and amateur ranks. IHP has been involved with the FAU swim Club for over 5 years now, training team member from state championships to the Olympics.  IHP is now the official strength and conditioning headquarters for several of Florida Atlantic University sports and also works with several of the local high school’s sports teams.  Over the last two years, IHP has also been the headquarters for the Boca Raton Police Athletic League Boxing team, culminating in several state, regional, and national gold medals, as well as the 2006 State Team Championship.

Of all the athletic training we do at IHP, youth athletics is one of our favorites.  The reason is that our training philosophy is a parent’s and coach’s best friend.  At IHP, we use athletic training not only create strong bodies, but also strong minds and spirits.  Through our training programs the IHP coach is able to still respect, a sense of pride, and an impeccable work ethic.  At IHP these qualities are more important than the actual physical skill of any athlete, and are lacking in today’s society.  We at IHP feel that our youth is at difficult cross roads; between technology, music, Hollywood, sports, and fast food, many of our kids may not make it.  We are looking at a generation that may not outlive their parents due to various diseases cause by lack of movement and overeating.  Thanks to Hollywood and today’s music industry, the youth of today is bombarded with continuous messages of immorality, indecency, warped values, total disregard for humanity.  Many of us at IHP are parents and suffer through the incredible and daily challenges we face raising our children –so we feel very strongly about the work we do with our young athletes.  The IHP mission is dedicated in part to changing the culture of today’s youth; we will help them change the world – one rep at a time!

The fastest growing cohort of today’s American population is the senior population.  Although there are many different classifications that depict seniors we operationally define it as anyone over 60.  Due to medical advancements the over 80 cohort is exploding.  Not only are people leaving longer, many don’t want to “act their age.”  At IHP, we certainly encourage all of our seniors NOT TO ACT THEIR AGE!  To us age is NOT a number – it is a state of mind.  OF all of our clientele, our senior population is the most dedicate; they NEVER miss, and they are ALWAYS on time.  Our seniors have that “Greatest Generation” value system that shines right through, and we at IHP appreciate, welcome, and want to instill that work ethic in all who come to IHP.  Part of the charm of the IHP spirit, is the wisdom and values we have learned from all of the wise, loving senior clients who have graced our training facility.

The IHP staff has been through many battles with our senior clientele.  We have come into their lives when they needed us and fought against cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, kidney failure, COPD, fractured bones, neuropathies, Heart attacks, strokes and more.  We train our senior clientele to be strong enough carry their grandchildren, go up and down the stairs, play better golf, and react to slips and falls.    At IHP we focus on maintaining a high quality of life in all of our clients, especially our seniors.  It is always a pleasure to great them at IHP and seeing them working hard, with big smiles on their faces.  Our senior clientele enrich our lives at IHP, and we learn from them more than they will ever know.
