IHP Staff Specialty Certifications USA Track and Field Coach Level 1 Course The USATF Coaching Education Level 1 program is intended as a starting point for coaches. One of the objectives of the Level 1 program is to put all coaches on common ground (i.e., speaking the same language). The Level 1 program covers all events in a rudimentary manner by emphasizing fundamentals, rules, safety/risk management, and instruction techniques. The Level 1 Course prepares an individual to coach at the junior high school, high school, club, and junior age division level. USA Weightlifting Coach Club Coach For over a decade now USA Weightlifting has facilitated the Club Coach Certification Course and has certified over 2500 coaches. This course is aimed at beginning coaches who are introducing young athletes to the Olympic sport of Weightlifting. The focus is to provide each candidate with a body of knowledge and practical expertise to enable them to progress a beginning lifter from commencing in the sport to competent club standard. Senior Coach The USA Weightlifting senior coach is the second formalized education course within USA Weightlifting's Coaching Education curriculum. The course accommodates the needs of coaches who have already qualified as Club Coaches. The facilitation of this course is over four days and may take place at USAW Headquarters, the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs or at a club location. It may also be take place over two weekends or over four consecutive days. The aim of this course is at the developing Club Coach graduate who has progressed beyond coaching beginners. The course offers an expanding education for the coach, introducing many Sports Science elements. Instructors will provide candidates with a body of knowledge and practical expertise so that they can develop their lifters from Club standard to National standard and beyond.
