Those that want to play hard

The Institute of Human Performance is known world-wide for the hard driving workout its Founder and CEO, JC Santana, has developed. Santana has been a combat athlete and student for the greater part of his life, and the training style he grew up developing is the finger print of the IHP training system. Santana’s training philosophy and style are two of the main reasons why athletes from all sports gravitate to IHP. Regardless of the sport, the IHP athlete takes great pride in its strength and conditioning; we vow to never lose to fatigue!

IHP has trained some of the world’s best athletes, from world champion fighters to MVP players of MLB. We have also had great success with professional Golf and Tennis players. However, IHP’s greatest accomplishments are not all in the professional ranks; some of our best work is done at the college, club and amateur ranks. IHP has been involved with the FAU swim Club for over 5 years now, training team member from state championships to the Olympics. IHP is now the official strength and conditioning headquarters for several of Florida Atlantic University sports and also works with several of the local high school’s sports teams. Over the last two years, IHP has also been the headquarters for the Boca Raton Police Athletic League Boxing team, culminating in several state, regional, and national gold medals, as well as the 2006 State Team Championship.

Of all the athletic training we do at IHP, youth athletics is one of our favorites. The reason is that our training philosophy is a parent’s and coach’s best friend. At IHP, we use athletic training not only create strong bodies, but also strong minds and spirits. Through our training programs the IHP coach is able to still respect, a sense of pride, and an impeccable work ethic. At IHP these qualities are more important than the actual physical skill of any athlete, and are lacking in today’s society. We at IHP feel that our youth is at difficult cross roads; between technology, music, Hollywood, sports, and fast food, many of our kids may not make it. We are looking at a generation that may not outlive their parents due to various diseases cause by lack of movement and overeating. Thanks to Hollywood and today’s music industry, the youth of today is bombarded with continuous messages of immorality, indecency, warped values, total disregard for humanity. Many of us at IHP are parents and suffer through the incredible and daily challenges we face raising our children –so we feel very strongly about the work we do with our young athletes. The IHP mission is dedicated in part to changing the culture of today’s youth; we will help them change the world – one rep at a time!
