Young Athlete Conditioning Camp

Training for Athletes Who Want to Take Their Performance to the Next Level!

Ages 13-18

Train Like the Pros! All Levels Welcome!

Weight Training

The camp concentrates on teaching each athlete proper use of free weight equipment. The use of dumbbells and barbells will provide the basis for strength development.

Running Mechanics

Various running drills will be utilized to assure optimal running efficiency. These are the same drills used by all of the professional and collegiate athletes with whom we work.

Functional Training

All the strength in the world is of little value if you can't use it. The IHP Young Athlete Conditioning Camp incorporates Functional Training to develop Functional Strength-STRENGTH YOU CAN USE!

Other Equipment

A variety of climbing, boxing, and balance drills will add incredible upper body, lower body, and core strength.

Fitness and Conditioning

IHP trains weekend warriors, housewives, CEOs, professional athletes, and other fitness aficionados to get the most out of their lives. Whether you want to prepare for a ski trip, train for an athletic event, or improve your golf or tennis game, IHP training delivers! IHP clients get into such great shape that when you come into IHP you may not be able to tell the difference between our athletes and our recreational clients! Watch out for the IHP ladies-they are some of our most accomplished clients.

Functional Training

The hottest phrase in the fitness and conditioning field is functional training (FT). FT is a buzzword that everyone uses but few understand. Function can easily be defined as the "normal or characteristic action of anything-a duty, utility, or purpose." Function is what works. Therefore, FT trains the body, or body area, for the movement for which it is intended. FT is exercise that trains "a normal or characteristic action." FT is not a new concept. It has been around since the beginning of time. If you want to get better and stronger at an activity, you instinctively rehearse the activity or at least part of that activity. In sports, the best functional training for a particular sport is practicing that sport! Although this description is an oversimplification of the concept of functional training, it is the essence of FT. FT trains movements, not body parts! FT is a return to what is natural and effective. It integrates the best of all training methodologies in a simple, safe, and fun manner. Go for function and you will never go wrong!

Junior Athletes

IHP takes great pride in mentoring the developing athlete, whether at the high school level or college rank. Young athletes are very impressionable and IHP realizes this. We welcome this opportunity to create a love for sports, fitness, and human movement in general. The focus of our development program is on skill, biomechanical efficiency, and movement strength. Special attention is paid to developing a work ethic that will last a lifetime and transcend sports and fitness. The athletic development programs designed at IHP have been successfully used by our local high school and collegiate athletes to win state, national, and world recognition. Most importantly, IHP training has been pivotal in securing many college scholarships for athletes who might otherwise not have had an opportunity for a college education.

Professional Athletes

IHP trains some of the top professional athletes in the sports world. Professional athletes choose IHP because of its advanced training methods and its private and disciplined environment. The goal of this program is to allow professional athletes to elevate their physical function to optimal levels. Many professionals have credited IHP for their quick recovery from injury, longer athletic careers, and superstar performances. We train them all, from players in the NFL to jujitsu fighters from Brazil!

Rehabilitation

IHP takes on the hard cases in rehabilitation. We have had ACL reconstruction patients running in 9 weeks and have helped post-coma patients live productive, independent lives. Our comprehensive conditioning program is integrated with some of the top therapists and specialists around the country. IHP has worked with some of the best technicians, educators, and innovators in the rehabilitation world. IHP provides on-site therapy, which provides the best environment for the integration of treatment and rehabilitation.

Seniors

The best aspect about the IHP seniors is that they don't act their age. Our senior training is geared to adding years to the life and life to the years of our senior clients. Our motto is, "A day without breathlessness is a day without life." Our first priority is safety, but our final goal is a strong and fast body capable of picking up grandchildren and preventing dangerous falls. To this end we design our senior programs with an athletic twist, full of fun and challenging exercises.
